[clownshoes]
High school/middle school

Clothing and/or hair should not be so extreme or inappropriate to the school setting as to disrupt the educational process. Therefore, clothing deemed distracting, revealing, overly suggestive or otherwise disruptive will not be permitted.

Wearing accessories or clothing that could pose a safety threat to one’s self or others is not allowed. This includes heavy chains not made as jewelry, fishhooks, multiple-finger rings (rings welded together resembling brass knuckles or rings that can be used as a weapon), studded bracelets or collars, nose/lip to ear chains, etc. Unusual body piercing that is disruptive to the order of the school, or is a distraction to the learning environment, will not be allowed.

Attire must not evidence membership or affiliation with a “gang” in any negative sense of the term. In determining whether or not a student is in violation of the prohibition on the wearing/display of a gang-related item, the district will maintain, in all of its school offices, an example of potential gang indicators including symbols, hand signals, graffiti and clothing/accessories (as stated in policy JICF - Secret Societies/Gang Activity). Bandannas and do rags are not allowed on campus and will be confiscated. Hats are not allowed in school buildings. Picks or combs are not allowed in hair. Hair items such as plastic headbands, barrettes and ribbons are permitted. School administrators will not be held liable for confiscated items.

Proper shoes must be worn at all times. Open back shoes are permitted. Shower shoes and bedroom slippers are not permitted.

Attire must not be immodest, obscene, profane, lewd, vulgar, indecent or offensive. Lower garments should be of adequate length to assure modesty when the student is seated or engaged in school activities.

Pants must be worn at the natural waistline and undergarments are not to be visible. If they do not fit properly, a belt must be worn to keep them in place.

Shirts must be tucked in to the extent that belts or waistbands are clearly visible at all times.

Sleeveless attire cannot reveal undergarments. Shirts cannot be tight, low cut or show cleavage. Shirts should be loose fitting and fully cover the upper body. Tank tops, halter-tops, shirts with spaghetti straps and see through shirts will not be allowed.

Clothing must cover waist, shoulders and back with no skin showing between the top garment and bottom garment.

Pants and slacks must not touch the floor (no bagging, sagging or dragging clothing).

No exposed undergarments.

No transparent or mesh clothing without an appropriate shirt underneath.

No apparel that is too revealing.

No clothing that is excessively form fitting (i.e. spandex).

No sunglasses may be worn inside the buildings.

No wallet chains or other type chains that may be dangerous or disruptive.

Students may not continue to attend class wearing inappropriate clothing. Neither parents/legal guardians nor students will place the burden of enforcing the dress code solely on the school. Parents/Legal guardians and students are expected to comply to ensure that a comfortable, safe and non-confrontational environment is provided for all students. Administrators and faculty members are expected to strictly enforce the dress code at all times.

Violations of the dress code will result in the following.

Student(s) will be required to return home and change into appropriate attire or parent/legal guardian can bring proper clothing to school or student will be sent to ISD.

Repeated violations of this dress code will be treated as disruptive behavior in violation of the student code of conduct. However, dress code violations will not carry over on the student’s discipline record to subsequent years.

The school administration will determine the amount of lost instructional time a student must make up due to being out of class for inappropriate dress. The instructional time will be made up after school and at the financial expense of the student’s parent/legal guardian for a certified teacher to remain and instruct the student. Failure to do so may result in a student repeating the course(s).

"Shirts must be tucked in to the extent that belts or waistbands are clearly visible at all times."

the shirts tucked in thing is stupid
cause not a lot of people wear shirts that they can actually tuck in cause their so short
me being one of them
and a lot of girls and stuff
so i doubt it will be enforced by principals for very long
if it is at all

I'm assuming that if it is too short but no flab is showing, then it is ok

i'm worried about the extremely fat people
honestly, i don't want their folds to be even more defined

yeah we we're actually talking about that
how it would make the larger people feel insecure
if they had to tuck their shirts in

"Yes, I saw that when I got my report card. I doubt they'll enforce it. I'm definately not fuckin tucking in my shirt."

Wow I guess that none of the gang people are coming to school anymore, cause they will not be able to wear anything like they normally do.

So, there was this kid in my English class (Evan: talking about Jeff here). This kid would were shirts that came down to his ankles, and he was 6' 2" or so. I believe that he is going to have a real problem with this.

BTW- I remember teachers talking about how they thought the no hats rule was never going to be enforceable (they were reminiscing about the past). Look how it is now, no one dare wears a hat to school. Just a thought. I know I will NOT be tucking my shirts in. That's just wrong.

"Lower garments should be of adequate length to assure modesty when the student is seated or engaged in school activities."

I guarantee there will be problems with the wording in this phrase.

whatever

Who is even going to listen to this idiotic rule (shirts tucked in... belts must be seen.. yadda yadda yadda)... I mean... MY shirts don't tuck in thank you very much... and my mom is not going to go buy me all new attire that can be tucked in... I'm sorry, Rsd2...but nobody is going to abide by this shit... Let's all get well acquainted with A2, because I know I will be spending much more time there than usual!

Plus back to the larger people... That is somewhat discrimnatory (sp?) to do that to them. I mean why take someone already insecure and make them feel even worse in their enviornment?? It's not right, larger people are already discriminated against...

I dunno, it's quite possible I'm making a way bigger deal out of this than it is... but right now, this is just how I feel.. maybe it'll all blow over...

Re: whatever

fat people deserve to be discimated against; as much as smokers if not more

EVERYONE is going to listen. they'll be arrested kids who don't during the first weeks of school.

don't give me shit that you can't tuck your shirt in. no one is going to care how it looks.

btw, A2? P-6 baby!

Re: whatever

Arresting? why the hell would they do that? wtfever... And when you say "don't give me shit that you can't tuck your shirt in. no one is going to care how it looks." ... well guess what I'm not tlaking about vanity purposes... a lot of my shirts go exactly to my pantsline... therefore you physically can't tuck them in. And saying fat people deserve to be discrimiated against is just wrong. It's not always a choice like smoking some people have disorders.

dress code

OMG!! this new tuck the shirt in and belt must be visible is sooooo GAYYY!!!!!! what crazy insane psycho person came up w/ this??? well of course it was an old person from RSD2....but yeh, whoever came up with this totally didnt take into consideration what the students think. yes, this may be the point of rules-making them for protection--but what on this earth is wrong with not tucking in shirts?!! and like on top of it all...if like the slightest amount of midriff did show--wats wrong with it? its not like if someone sees skin they're gonna be like "O MY, what am I going to do- its skin!" and then drop dead! im not saying its ok for people to come to school wearing like bathing suit tops--but its sooo NOT a sin 2 have skin!! so yeh, i think like the dress code --some, not all--is just STUPID!...one more thing-then im done....the school district is out 2 ruin the lives of students...haha, maybe, idk...but yeh....the dress code is stupid, gay, crazy, retarted..etc...

it gets worse every year

holy balls this is some seriously fucked up crap. now, ive graduated, and why im paying this so much attention is beyond me really, but i am. this dress code gets worse every year. freshman year it was somethin about specific college shirts and kids dressed in black the board got all pissy about; sophomore year they got completely sideways on the ripped clothes look(jeans, shorts, shirt sleeves) and the sandals and flip flops controversy; junior year was an extenuation of sophomore year with the faculty really getting pissed off about gang colors and certain jewelry(gang related?, chains on wallets?); and senior year- the list seems endless- teachers actually carried rulers inthe hallway to check skirts and shorts lengths, a few select teachers got on people about the jelly bracelets(dumbasses- who would have sex over a broken bracelet?!?!?!), the whole mid drift thing started up(that was just a way for the board to be douchebags), and i beleive mr wilson was the guy to go to see if your belt was adequate for your clothes(he discriminated against extension cords and rope<------seriously). so as i see it, before this years freshman graduate, there will be uniforms, or the school will burned to the ground along with any dresscode policy.
